Happy Monday! Here is the weekend update for this week. I had a good time chillin’ around the house with Darcy and Shady. It didn’t snow much but we did have a white Christmas.
Shady In The Cold
Shady gave her best shot at being outside but she decided it was better to be warm by the tree on the couch. She still doesn’t seem to appreciate the cold.
New Abstract Brush Painting
Despite being too full of holiday cheer I was able to get a little painting done. I was watching a video of the master, Kazuaki Tanahashi, and it inspired me to loosen up my brush stroke a bit.
I like how you get a lot more movement and detail using this method. A lot of times I’ll keep my lines a lot cleaner more like pin striping. Here is a link to an example of some of my art that has cleaner lines and because of that I usually need put more work into it.
Listening to Old Records
When my Mom was moving I got some old Christmas records we used to listen to every year when I was a kid. Darcy wanted to hear some Christmas music so I busted them out and they really brought back some memories.
It is funny how different everyone celebrates the holidays. People always have a version of a song they remember best or certain songs they always play. Some of these were definitely new for Darcy. Even though the covers look fun a lot of these were completely choral arrangements. I would have expected a bit more characters and fun songs. I suppose that is why I usually stick to Metal and Dub!
Happy Holidays!
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year or however you celebrate the holidays! This is the front of the card I made this year.
Thanks for hanging out with us and checking out the latest Crystaleyezed Fine Arts Weekend Update. Have a great 2021!
